Frank Chestnut is a caring, committed and community-oriented individual. I feel he will enthusiastically listen to all educational related issues and uses all available information and resources to make a decision for the long-term welfare of our school system. I will back him whole-heartily and do whatever it takes to give him my utmost support because if he wins, we all win.

yes, I wholeheartedly agree with Mr.Chestnut
about his comments about our schools. they are a reflection of our communities. I had the pleasure of talking to Mr. Chestnut at length
about alot of things, and I do know that he is
passionate about the youth here in selma. And
if anyone can make a difference I know that he
can and will.

If we pick Frank it's in the bank!! (ha!)

About Frank

Frank Chestnut, Jr. was born and raised in Selma. He is a proud product of the Selma City School System. Mr. Chestnut earned a bachelor’s in Management of Human Resources from Faulkner University in 1995 while employed at International Paper’s Riverdale Mill. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy University Montgomery.

In 2003, Frank joined Alabama’s number one recruiting incentive, Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT). He currently manages a group of Continuous Improvement Specialist tasked primarily with identifying process inefficiencies and implementing process improvement methods for companies throughout the state of Alabama.

Locally, Frank serves on the Industrial Development Board-Selma/Dallas County and the Historic Selma Crime Prevention Initiative. Statewide, he serves on the Board of Directors for Alabama Automotive Manufactures Association (AAMA) and the steering committee for Alabama Operations Management Institute (AOMI).

Frank is well aware that for years economic developers have noted that public schools are a reflection of the community and that this is one of the main predictors of where a community is headed. He has witnessed remarkable progress and successful school systems all across Alabama and believes that for progress to continue in Selma, we must recognize that schools and the community are inextricably linked. “When the schools suffer, so does the community,” states Frank. “Schools are a cherished institution and must be a driver of progress to challenge minds inside and outside of its walls,” he adds. “Thus, better schools mean a better community.” Frank believes this election can be a catalyst for our community and schools taking us to new heights.

Frank and his children are products of the Selma City School System. He is married to Mrs. Kesha Robbins Chestnut. If elected, he will make every effort to ensure decisions will be carefully considered with the community in mind.
